This tea is well-known for its cooling properties and harmonizing and soothing qualities that help to decrease body heat and is recommended for those with fever, sore throat, and other heat-related illnesses. In traditional Chinese medicine, chrysanthemum tea is also used to treat the eyes, and is said to clear the liver and the eyes. It is believed to be effective in treating eye pain associated with stress. Our Chrysanthemum tea is a special grade known as the Huang Shan (Yellow Mountain) Chrysanthemum. Organically grown chrysanthemum flowers. These flowers are perfect for blending with other teas, herbs and Goji Berries or brewing on their own. Chinese Names Ju Hua/ Huang Shan (Yellow Mountain) Chrysanthemum Taste Very refreshing and has a natural sweet fragrance and taste. Try brewing it with some rock sugar for additional sweetness. Appearance Dried white/yellow colored chrysanthemum flowers. Origin Huang Shan, An Hui Province, China Harvest Period Nov. 2012 Brewing Tips: Rinse tea cup and teapot with hot water. Use around 3 to 5 flowers for every 250ml of water. Steep tea leaves in hot water at 90°c (194°F) to 95°c (203°F) for 2 to 4 minutes. You may try brewing this tea with a bit of rock sugar. Serves well hot or cold.
